Dominika Pas

Flute

Brief info

Tell us about yourself: who are you and where do you come from?

I'm Dominika Pas, I’m studying flute studio and instrumental and vocal pedagogy in Vienna. I am from Keszthely, Hungary. A city where there are two beautiful lakes nearby, Lake Balaton and Lake Hévíz. I play ancient music at the moment, but traditional Indian and Irish melodies are also very close to my heart.

Tell us about a passion you have besides music and why it makes you feel good.

One of my greatest passions is dance. The culture of movement has been part of my life since I was 4 years old. This is why when I hear a melody somewhere, I find it hard not to move. Just like music, it helps to express emotions. I can be anyone through dance, I can show the parts of my personality that I can't show in real life. Perhaps the best thing is that dance combines the arts and makes a great union with them.

In your opinion, what makes the Komendunesi Festival special?

I have never been to Italy before 2019, although I have always dreamed of going there. Comenduno is an amazing place with great people. Their hospitality, positivity, attitude towards life is fascinating. Even though I was there for a week, it felt like I was part of a big family. I gathered a lot of strength from what I experienced there, both as a musician and as a person. I can’t wait to return to Comenduno this year and for years to come.

Three things you are looking forward to most about the 2021 edition of the Komendunesi Festival?

The wonderful mountains, the good humor and the singing and playing together, meeting Italian friends again.

What is music to you?

Music for me is a way to connect with God, to be lifted up, to relax, to take refuge at times, to give joy … And I could list many other things. It may sound cliché, but I can’t imagine a single day without music. I don’t necessarily have to play, I just need to listen to it. In a way, it has always been in my life and always will be.

A quick music menu of your own:

a piece of music to help you get through the day or morning

a piece of music to help you relax

a piece of music that helps you to release anger or tension
