Marco Taraddei

Bassoon

Brief info

Tell us about yourself: who are you and where do you come from?

I am an Italian musician specialized in bassoon. I come from Bergamo.

Tell us about a passion you have besides music and why it makes you feel good.

The first non-musical activity that comes to my mind is soccer. I have been playing it since I was 8 (similarly to music, I guess I started both in the same period); I love the smell of grass while I’m running, the feeling of my feet controlling the ball, the time stopping just after I shoot, waiting to know if the goalkeeper will get it or I’ll score.

In your opinion, what makes the Komendunesi Festival special?

Probably it’s the good mix of friendliness and seriousness. That’s what it looks to me, even if the first time I’ll be joining this festival.

Three things you are looking forward to most about the 2021 edition of the Komendunesi Festival?

Playing in a nice location – for a real public – experiencing the concert-at-home feeling again, after so much time.

What is music to you?

I like to think it as a mirror, which tells me something about myself. It goes beyond any filter, because when you are on stage you are naked. Bright size: this gives you the chance to improve yourself.

A quick music menu of your own:

Uff! I’ll answer it basing on my last week playlist.

a piece of music to help you get through the day or morning:

The saxophone solo on this live is just amazing, so I keep listening to it again and again. It gives me the right mood for the day.

a piece of music to help you relax:

Next answers come from Spotify folders. I recently discovered that XVII century vocal music sends perfect waves to my brain. Here it is an example: Domine exaudi orationem meam (Psalmi Davidici), Andrea Gabrieli. This is from a 2002 album.

a piece of music that helps you to release anger or tension:

Then, let’s finish with a classic: Radiohead, No surprises.
